Harold Haase

Bill Cernansky wants to be the worst improvisor on stage. This goal was once easy to attain. It's getting harder because Bill is getting better.

He invites the best improvisors in Portland to join him in a long-form performance. Bill's theory: surrounding yourself with incredible talent makes you look brilliant.

Bill is right. Amazing performers from all of Portland's improv stages have repeatedly made him look, well, amazing. This is good, because Bill hates to be wrong.

The "Harold" is a long-form improv structure created by Chicago legend Del Close. Bill and his guests will improvise the Harold and interesting variants in an exploration of this classic American art form. Harold Haase has even been an incubator for new improv structures, such as the 2-person "Revolver".

Rating: PG-13
